| Comment | Sample is pale grayish red purple devitrified moderately welded tuff with common small pumice to 8/1 mm with very light gray interiors and moderate brown borders. Common felsic phenocrysts are feldspar to 2.5 mm, some milky, partly altered, and much lesser quartz to 2 mm. One 8 mm long moderate brown pumice is trachytic, with conspicuous groundmass feldspar. Scarce to common mafics include generally very strongly bronzed biotite and reddish orange pseudomorphic pyroxene, both to 1 mm. No lithics were observed. |
