| Comment | Sample is very pale red devitrified moderately welded tuff with common pumice to 30 mm that is partly filled with vapor phase minerals, and mostly very light gray and lesser dark brownish gray, many mingled. Feldspar phenocrysts are common, and mafics, entirely altered to brown hematitic pseudomorphic masses, have indeterminate abundances because these pseudomorphs are indistinguishable from brown pumice. Scarce lithics are dominated by feldspar-phyric devitrified clasts to 15 mm. |
