CommentSample is moderate brown devitrified moderately welded tuff with scarce to common white to pinkish gray spherulitic pumice to 8 mm. Subparallel fractures separated by 30 mm intersect core at 45 degrees to bound the core piece; lenses of brownish black manganese oxides coat both fractures and fill tight associated fractures up to 5 mm from major fracture. Common felsic phenocrysts are mostly feldspar to 1.5 mm, some partly altered, probably representing plagioclase; quartz is also evident. Slightly to moderately bronzy biotite to 3 mm is common to abundant and yellow green pseudomorphic pyroxene to 1 mm is scarce. Lithics to 12 mm are scarce.
