| Comment | Sample of core is medium light gray devitrified moderately welded tuff with common to abundant light gray to very light gray pumice to 30 mm. An anastomosing fracture to 5 mm maximum width has the same appearance as light gray pumice, merges with such pumice, and thus appears to be filled with fine granophyric quartz formed during devitrification. Light olive celadonite that forms thin lenses to 10 mm diameter thinly coats pumice interiors. Felsic phenocrysts are common to abundant and black biotite is abundant, both to 1.5 mm. No lithics were observed. |
