| Comment | Sample of core is grayish orange pink devitrified moderately welded tuff with common to abundant very light gray pumice to >25 mm, with an overprint of quartzofeldspathic alteration. Sample is moderately fractured, with several orientations for fractures. Brown manganese oxides coat most fractures and interiors of some pumice. Common to abundant felsic phenocrysts are almost entirely very strongly altered feldspar to 4 mm, with only a single 0.5 mm quartz observed within pumice. Scarce mafics are mostly pseudomorphic after hornblende and pyroxene, with a single grain displaying relict dark green clinopyroxene; lesser biotite is generally very highly bronzy. No lithics were observed. |
