Abstract

From 1908 through 1963 the Robinson district produced almost one billion dollars worth of copper. About 15,000 feet of Paleozoic rocks are locally intensely folded and overturned, associated with thrust faulting. The trend of the monzonite intrusion and mineralization, perpendicular to the fault pattern, is believed due to an east-west lineation in the basement. Alteration and mineralization were contemporaneous with the intrusion and resulted from a single continuous deuteric process. The alteration exhibits vertical zoning, and the mineral assemblges and their chemical analyses are tabulated.
