Abstract
Folded sedimentary rocks of Paleozoic age displaced by thrust and normal faults have been intruded by a stock of granodiorite and are overlain by volcanic rocks of Tertiary age. Important amounts of tungsten have been produced from contact metamorphic scheelite deposits; between 1938 and 1950 production from the Getchell gold mine exceeded 16 million dollars in value. The area also contains small deposits of quicksilver, placer gold, and barite.
