Abstract

Chemical analyses of volcanic rocks and laboratory data for super 40 Ar super 39 Ar ages from the central part of the newly defined Eocene Northeast Nevada volcanic field are presented. This major volcanic field, in Northeast Nevada and adjacent Utah, is defined by 1 12 localities from which 23 super 40 Ar/ super 39 Ar ages, which range from 42.6 to 39.0 Ma, were obtained, 2 more than 90 chemical analyses, 3 stratigraphic position of the volcanic rocks above a regional Eocene unconformity, and 4 lithology.
