Abstract

Sixty-three fission track and K-Ar age determinations are combined with recent geochemical, isotopic, geochronologic, and tectonic studies, to better understand the processes that formed the intrusive rocks and related ore deposits of the Colorado mineral belt CMB. The data helped to 1 document the temporal and spatial evolution of magmatic activity along the CMB, 2 recognize multiple igneous/mineralization events at individual centers, and 3 understand the tectonic-magmatic processes that formed in igneous centers and mineral deposits.
